Relay for Life is truly a community event on campus. Two Gustavus Psychological Science majors who volunteer extensively for this cause share their insights:

“Since cancer never sleeps, Relay for Life is a 24 hour event supporting a cure for cancer. We walk of course, but the night is filled with all sorts of fun events for all the participants of Relay. From eating the classic Chuck Norris burger from Patty’s to participating in 4am Zumba, Relay for Life is nothing but active and exciting! Having over 500 participants and raising $45,449.45 last year was a huge success! This year’s fight against cancer has a goal of reaching $50,000 and obtaining at least 500 participants or more!

There is such a diverse group of students that participate in Relay for Life every year, and it’s our connection in our fight against cancer that brings us together. Psychological Science student participants have been vast in the past but it’s nice to see so many participants from all sorts of majors.”
