Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, was founded in 1929 with a mission to encourage excellence in scholarship and advance the science of psychology. More than 600,000 lifetime members have joined in this worthwhile cause including distinguished members such as Drs. Albert Bandura, B. F. Skinner, and Phillip Zimbardo. There are chapters all over the country, including ours at Gustavus Adolphus College.
This past week, we were happy to be able to induct yet another amazing group of Gustavus students into our chapter. This induction ceremony was a good opportunity for psychology majors to get together and chat with professors before the ceremony began. Once it began, there was a short introduction about Psi Chi and its history followed by the induction of new members, the giving of graduation chords to the graduating seniors, and finally the introduction of the new officers of our chapter of Psi Chi.
Special thanks to our Psi Chi faculty coordinator, Professor Patricia Reeder and the 2014-15 Psi Chi Officers: Meishon Behboudi, Heidi Pontinen, Janey Ross and Allison Conrad.
