Psychological Science Welcomes New Faculty: Lucie Holmgreen Posted on January 6th, 2017 by

Psychological Science welcomes our newest faculty member Lucie Holmgreen to the department.

Lucie Holmgreen received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She loves teaching about psychology, having taught at Marquette, Rush Medical College, Cardinal Stritch University, and Alverno College. She completed her internship at a VA hospital and Indian Health Services in Albuquerque and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Her research integrates clinical and social psychological approaches to investigate the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral bases of the cyclical nature of trauma (especially sexual assault) as well as the ways institutions respond to trauma. She and her husband have welcomed their first child into a pack that also includes one basset hound. They expect to be giving up their hobbies of reading history and science, playing board games, brewing beer and mead, and indulging in worlds of fantasy and science fiction. Lucie will also likely be giving up playing the guitar and singing folk music – unless that happens to put the baby to sleep. Then she will keep that up.
