Mischa Tursich PhD, LP
On Thursday, October 23 at 7:30 pm, the Gustavus Adolphus College Psychological Science department hosted Mischa Tursich (PhD, LP), who gave a presentation entitled “Graduate School, Sexy Brains, & Beyond: Notes from a Clinical Psychologist.”
Dr. Tursich spoke about her experiences in graduate school and gave advice to students, stressing the importance of networking and researching different schools and programs before applying. She described her clinical work and research involving trauma-related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as the therapies that are used to treat people with these disorders. She also explained the psychological and physiological effects of a traumatic event and answered student questions about her career and research.
