Recently Gustavus’ Center for Developmental Science hosted a display booth at a local Baby and Kids Expo in Mankato, Minnesota. The booth displays raised awareness of the Center, shared current research studies with attendees and encouraged participation in fun studies at the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota Senior Nick Herzog ’16 manned the booth with Professor Patricia Reeder and had this to say about the event:

“The 2016 Baby & Kids Expo was held at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato this past January. The Expo was a great opportunity for soon-to-be mothers, and families with young children to learn about a variety of organizations in the area. The event had activities throughout the morning for children to enjoy. Families also seemed to really enjoy the live music by children’s group Koo Koo Kanga Roo.

The Gustavus Center for Developmental Science was present at the expo and received a lot of interest from the families present. It was a great opportunity for the Center to gain more outreach into the community and present some of the research that we’ve been doing through our partnership with the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota.

The Center’s friendly research assistants can often be found at the museum conducting studies, which include fun games and puzzles in an open-air atmosphere. Come see us at the museum!” Nick Herzog ’16
