Gustavus Adolphus College extends a warm welcome to three new faculty with us in the department of Psychological Science:
Patricia Reeder
Patricia completed her Ph.D. in Brain & Cognitive Science at the University of Rochester in 2010. After that, she was a postdoctoral researcher and senior lecturer at the University of Rochester, and then a Visiting Assistant Professor at Dickinson College. Patricia’s teaching and research interests sit at the intersection of developmental and cognitive psychology. Most of her research has looked at the cognitive mechanisms that enable children and adults to implicitly learn complex information. She is especially interested in the comparison between adult and child learning, and the maturational and experience-based factors that shape learning outcomes.
Michaela Bucchianeri
Michaela is clinical psychologist and visiting assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Science. Originally from northern California, she has spent the majority of her adulthood in the Midwest. After receiving her BA from the University of Portland, Michaela completed her doctoral work at the University of Notre Dame and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include sociocultural influences on body image and disordered eating, eating disorder prevention efforts, and weight bias and stigma. Michaela loves cooking, traveling, and seeking out everyday adventures.
Linsa Jabeen
Linsa Jabeen received her undergraduate degree from Millsaps College, her masters from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and her Ph.D. from University of Texas El Paso. She taught at Trinity University, San Antonio prior to coming to Gustavus. Her research interests are within social cognition and applied social psychology focusing on trust, attitudes, and morality. Linsa enjoys running, biking, practicing Yoga, and traveling abroad.
